Dr. Messner’s special clinical interests are vitreo-retinal diseases and neuro-ophthalmic disorders. He received his optometry training at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and at The Eye Institute, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Messner is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is also former Chair of the Ocular Disease Committee of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and a member of the American Academy of Optometry Diplomate Committee, Neuro-Ophthalmic Disorders Section. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Illinois Optometric Association. Dr. Messner provides patient care in the Center for Advanced Ophthalmic Care.
